The drive to Abu Dhabi will take as just over an hour and our first stop is the famous falcon hospital. Here, a German lady doctor has earned the respect of the Sheikhs who bring their valuable birds from near and far for medical checkups, surgery and sometimes even a feather transplantation. You will join a guided tour through and behind the scenes of the hospital. You will be able to watch a small procedure as well as come up close and personal with one of these magnificent birds.
Another must see in the Capital of the UAE is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. One of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world. It is built from white marble and decorated with gold, gemstones, Swarovski crystals and the largest hand-woven carpet in the world.
We cannot leave Abu Dhabi without a stop at The Louvre Abu Dhabi. The building itself, designed by Jean Nouvelle, as well as the permanent exhibition: See Humanity in a new Light are spectacular.
Very important: For the mosque visit women must cover up completely. Please wear a long-sleeved top, long trousers and bring a headscarf. The clothing must not be transparent, it is best to avoid white clothing. Men should also wear long pants.
